Max Bialystock was once the king of Broadway, but now all his shows close on opening night. Originally written for the silver screen in 1968, The Producers opened on Broadway in 2001 starring Hollywood A-listers Matthew Broderick and Nathan Lane and went on to win the most Tony awards ever.
