The Youth Performance Company is an elite training program for students who show exceptional talent in the areas of acting, singing and dancing and wish to advance their “triple threat” skills and for those who with to advance their production interests. In May, students auditioned to be accepted to the two week Summer Intensive where they attend daily classes focusing on ensemble building, physical and vocal training, character development and professional stage etiquette. These classes are taught by professional actors, singers, dancers, and Stage Managers who provide the highest level of training. At the end of the two week Intensive, students audition for the Youth Performance Company’s Fall Musical. Those cast in the Fall Musical, will continue to train and rehearse in early October with the course culminating in a one week performance on Neptune’s Studio Stage. 

Membership into the Youth Performance Company Intensive is by audition only and students must be between the ages of 13 to 18 to be accepted into the program. To audition please prepare a contemporary monologue no longer than two minutes and a one minute selection of music. If you are a dancer, please prepare a one-minute movement piece. There are 45 spaces available for actors and 10 spaces available for production students. Of the 45 acting students, twenty are chosen to be in the Fall Musical. Five production students are chosen to work on the Fall Musical.  For those accepted into the Fall Musical, rehearsals begin in late September 2010. Students rehearse from 6-10pm on Fridays and from 10am-5pm on Sundays. Students may not always be called for the entire rehearsal period, however when called for a rehearsal, attendance is mandatory. 

During the week of the performance students must be at the theatre the entire day therefore students must have permission slips signed by a parent/guardian and your school, before rehearsals begin in September. 

Payments for the Youth Performance Company are broken up into two sections. Payment for the Summer Intensive is due upon acceptance into the program.

Summer Intensive: July 5 - 16, 2010 - $375* 

Fall Musical Company: October 1  – December 12, 2010 Acting Stream - $375*  Production Stream - $240* 

* HST must be added for students 14 years of age and older
