Consent is a top of mind issue in society today. The rise of the #MeToo movement has sparked more conversation about sexual assault and harassment and has helped empower survivors to come forward and speak out about their experiences.
Lo (or Dear Mr. Wells) puts consent, sex, power and control centre stage by shining a light on areas people might consider grey.

Ten years have passed since Laura was in a relationship with her high school English teacher. She is now a published author. As she waits at his doorstep with the novel she wrote about them in hand, we are invited into Laura's private memories of her underage romance with Mr. Wells.

Playwright Rose Napoli explores the topic of consent in this gripping two-hander about sex, power and control between a high-school teacher and his protégé-turned-lover.

Note about our actors: Both actors in Lo (or Dear Mr. Wells) are over the age of twenty and are professionally trained. To ensure the boundaries of our cast and creative team were respected, we worked with an intimacy director on site during rehearsals to make sure the actors and creative team were comfortable with the telling of this story.
