Drop-in Classes iv are aimed at our Adult Students. Cost is $15 cash at the door.

*Note: Any teens interested in attending should be familiar with the theatre school. If interested email to get permission to attend the drop-in classes if under 18 years of age.

Classes take place at the Neptune Studios. Please enter at the Scotiabank Stage, Neptune Theatre School, 1593 Argyle Street, Halifax and sign in 15 minutes before class.

Drop-In Dance (MONDAYS) 

Drop in Dance classes are Monday nights and begin January 7th, 2019.

$15 a class, no registration necessary! Or pay with your drop in class pass.

Run by local and visiting dancers / choreographers, our Drop-In Dance class is the perfect way to shake things up on a Monday night! All levels are welcome, and can expect a fun, encouraging atmosphere, and to learn fundamentals and choreography each class. Bring a comfortable set of active clothing and a water bottle, and have a blast!

Classes are taught by artists you will see on our stage at Neptune! David Light (Cinderella and Kamp), Celia Koughan (Lo (or Dear Mr Wells)), Sarah O'Brecht (Mamma Mia and Noises Off) and Neptune Theatre YPCo alumnus Anthony MacPherson.

Drop-In Improv classes are on Thursdays at 7pm and begin January 10th, 2019.

These improv classes are aimed at those looking to keep up their improv skills, or who are wanting to try something new. Create characters. Think on your feet. And have fun!  All levels welcome.

Sherry Lee Hunter is an actor, Master Teacher of Physical Theatre and was the founder, performer and director of the award winning touring company, Jest in Time Theatre. Select Jest credits include tours across Canada, Australia, Hong Kong, Japan and Alaska. Jest performed for Queen Elizabeth, did three National CBC TV Specials, starred in The International Beckett Festival as well as performing plays by Sam Shepard, and other notable playwrights. Sherry Lee's select performances as a principal actor include Leslie Nielson's TV series, 'Liography', and on stage at Neptune Theatre, Nightwood Theatre, Ship's Company, the Atlantic Theatre Festival and the Atlantic Fringe Festival with her one woman play 'Alone' among others. She has taught Physical Theatre/Mime to children, teens and adults for 35 years including Neptune Theatre's PPTP, PERFORM in the Schools, the National Theatre School, Acadia and Dalhousie Universities and privately. Her highly engaging style of teaching is inspired by her late mentor, Tony Montanaro who believed in developing and encouraging each individual student's personal style of theatre and expression.

Kim Parkhill is a Halifax-based theatre artist Kim Parkhill is an actor and playwright who has participated in the development of numerous original plays through readings, script workshops and workshop productions, as well as co-creating/co-writing seven of DaPoPo Theatre’s collectively devised works along with writing several plays individually. Kim trained in physical theatre and ensemble creation with Sergei Ostrenko at IUGTE and Viewpoints & Compositon with SITI Company at Skidmore College.

Favourite performance credits include: Ladies Foursome (Theatre Baddeck); Marion Bridge (Theatre New Brunswick); King of Berlin, Tribe of One (Doppler Effect)  Bitter Rose (Matchstick Theatre); Phaedra’s Bed, Julius Caesar, 13 Ways of Looking at a Madman, Apocalypse, The Halifax Hearings, The Poor House (DaPoPo); National Theatre Project (Theatre Yes); Liars (Neptune Touring Company) and GOOD NIGHT DESDEMONA, GOOD MORNING JULIET (Metamorphic).  As a playwright, her credits include: Warp & Weft(co-created with Lizon Richard, Atlantic Fringe), Phaedra’s Bed (Atlantic Fringe), The Again Walkers (Ibsen Bites, LunaSea Theatre), Maggie’s Musings (published in Rattling the Stage, 2012), Waiting for Go (24H Theatre Thing); TomTom, Die TraumWerwerter (Workshirt Opera), A Good Death (Neptune Studio Theatre). Her latest full-length script, Any Given Moment, premiered last summer at Ships Company in Parrsboro and toured New Brunswick with TNB.

Please contact the Director of Education, Laura Caswell at, or 902 429 7300 x255 to get permission to attend the drop in classes if under 18 years old. 5-class-passes can be shared with other students and will expire May 31st, 2019. You can use your Drop in Pass for any Drop in Class at Neptune Theatre. Note: Drop in Class 5-Class-Pass has no cash value. 

Neptune Theatre subscribers and sponsors are entitled to a 20% discount.

All refunds are subject to a $35 administration fee; there are no refunds once the class has begun.
