MASTERCLASSES 2019

Playwriting Masterclass, "Learning to Adapt"

Adapting and Transforming Stories into Stage Plays with acclaimed Playwright

Emil Sher

Neptune Theatre, Craig Board Room

Sunday, February 3

6:00 - 9 p.m.

$29+HST

Books, short stories, headlines: they all provide grist for the mill of stage adaptations. Through a series of hands-on exercises and group discussions this unique masterclass will allow new and established playwrights to explore the various paths into stories, and the process of transforming them into stage plays. What do you preserve? How much can you invent? What tools of the trade do you use to build a stage experience that is both faithful to the original and forged into something different? Open to all levels.
