25 January 2008 - Black and White and Wine All Over
The final touches are underway on Neptune’s exclusive Black and White and Wine all Over party, including the formal announcement of the evening’s entertainment. The fundraiser and grand unveiling of Neptune’s newly refurbished Studio Theatre will be highlighted by live performances from Halifax Chanteuse and ECMA nominee Rebecca Higgs, Flamenco guitarist Daniel MacNeil, and keyboardist/composer and Neptune orchestra mainstay Adam Theriault.
The soiree is expected to attract many of Halifax’s most prominent young professionals and will take place on Thursday, January 31st from 8pm to 10 pm. The event will also feature lighting by the award winning Leigh Ann Vardy and design by Katherine Jenkins.
“We wanted to host a party for young professionals where they could enjoy great food, wine and local entertainment, while also experiencing the wonderful ambience of our Studio Theatre that Leigh Ann, Katherine and our production staff are creating for the evening” says Doreen Malone, Neptune Theatre General Manager. “Our amazing volunteer organizing committee led by board member, Betty Lacas, has put together a great party that will also raise funds to support valuable Neptune Theatre programs like Pay What You Can Performances, Student Matinees and affordable Theatre School tuition.
Participants will be treated to wine and cuisine from Canada, the United States and Chile in honour of upcoming Neptune productions Wingfield’s Inferno, The Producers and Léo. The Studio stage will also be transformed into a dance floor, and music will be piped into the theatre following the live entertainment.
Sponsored by The Nova Scotia Gaming Authority, Stewart McKelvey and Sentry Select, with support from Rhubarb Restaurant, Bishop’s Cellar, Doctor Piano, Jost Wine, Grand Pre Wine, WHET Cafe, Rosemary's Chocolate, Props Floral Design, Churchill Dauphinee, and Tour Tech Black and White and Wine all Over will be one of Halifax’s hottest social events this January.
