It's time for us to REUNITE! We are excited to pesent this small series of concerts and play readings designed to welcome you back to the theatre for some uplifting LIVE entertainment.  Neptune Reunited performances are a fundraiser  to help reopen the theatre and raise funds to mount a 2021-2022 season.

In Lieu Of Flowers by Alison Crosby

April 9, 7:30pm: Fountain Hall

In Lieu Of Flowers follows Eddie as she navigates her world and relationships following the sudden passing of her brother. When the memory of Erin begins to shift and distort, Eddie must face the question of what it means to hold onto someone after they’re gone.

This new play by Alison Crosby is an exploration of the complexities of grief, loyalty, and what happens to those who are left behind.

In Lieu Of Flowers is a work-in-progress, receiving development support through Neptune's INKubator program in partnership with Playwrights Atlantic Resource Centre. This is its first public reading.

King Of Berlin by Kristin Slaney with original score by Garry Williams

April 16, 7:30pm: Fountain Hall

May 2, 1945. The last of German troops surrender Berlin to the Red Army, and the war is finally at an end… but does it mean peace has arrived? As former Weimar drag artist Astrid and her lover Margot sift through the debris of their war-torn city, they find themselves targets of new danger - this time at the hands of their liberators.

The ghost of Astrid’s friend Lotte also remains close by - a tether to memories of a happier time at the El Dorado... and to the guilt of those who survived its demise.

King Of Berlin is a queer ghost cabaret, a love story, and a meditation on women’s plight in the aftermath of historical military conflicts. Originally developed in Eastern Front’s Playwrights Unit and workshopped by The Doppler Effect Productions, it debuted on the Halifax stage in the 2017 QueerActs Theatre Festival.

Chasing Champions by Jacob Sampson

April 23rd, 7:30pm: Fountain Hall

Nova Scotia’s Sam Langford is considered by many boxing historians to be the greatest fighter who ever lived. So why have so few people heard of him? Chasing Champions is the moving story of Langford’s battles against a hostile culture and the machinations of a sport that repeatedly denied him a shot at the title of world champion.

A man of grace and fortitude, the 5’7” Langford fought from lightweight to heavyweight, beating legendary fighters in each class. He died blind and penniless in Harlem in 1956. Chasing Champions examines the life of this unsung hero – perhaps the greatest athlete never known.

Chasing Champions is a multi-award-winning play which had its world premiere at Ship’s Company Theatre (Parrsboro, NS) in 2016. It was subsequently presented by Eastern Front Theatre in Halifax and the National Arts Centre in Ottawa.
