Welcome to Neptune Theatre's Student Matinee Program. We are delighted to offer student matinee programming for your students to attend over the course of our 2019-2020 season. Please carefully read the rules and policies below so you understand the policies and procedures.

Disney's Frozen Jr (All Ages)

A story of true love and acceptance between sisters,  Frozen JR. expands upon the emotional relationship and journey between Princesses Anna and Elsa. When faced with danger, the two discover their hidden potential and the powerful bond of sisterhood. With a cast of beloved characters and loaded with magic, adventure, and plenty of humor,  Frozen JR. is sure to thaw even the coldest heart!

Dicken's A Christmas Carol (Grade 3+)

Dickens’ A Christmas Carol  is once again brought lovingly to life in this hilarious and haunted holiday experience. A heartwarming story about redemption, charity, and the spirit of Christmas. (Please note small children may find some elements of this production scary and we recommendit for Grades 3 and above.) 

Peter Pan: A Family Musical (All Ages)

When Wendy, Michael and John find themselves whisked away to Never-you-mind-land by a mysterious flying boy, they have no idea what awaits them: peculiar pirates, a posse of Lost Girls, a giant ticking crocodile and a very wicked, show-tune loving Captain Hook. This play is full of pop songs, hilarious jokes and encourages you to play along. 

Controlled Damage (Grade 7+)

The world premiere of Controlled Damage explores the life of  Viola Desmond  and how her act of bravery in a New Glasgow, NS movie theatre started a ripple effect throughout society. 
The play shines a light on how her courage impacted different cultural groups in the province and the effect it’s had over the past 70 years.

This new adaptation of Tolkien's classic is a fast paced retelling of the tale of Bilbo Baggins, who positively loathed adventures, but one day found himself embroiled in the greatest adventure in the whole history of middle earth, in a search for dragon guarded gold. This critically acclaimed adaptation uses masks, puppetry and shadow play to create Tolkien's world of dwarves, dragons, trolls, elves, giant spiders, goblins and, of course, hobbits. 

Billy Elliot the Musical (Grade 6+)

Determined to make his dreams come true,  Billy Elliot The Musical  is an inspirational story of one boy’s stumble from the boxing ring to the ballet studio. Against all odds, his life is changed forever when his passion inspires not only his family but a community fallen on hard times.

Neptune gratefully recognizes Nova Scotia Teachers Union for their support with student matinees. This contribution enables Neptune to provide accessible tickets to regional schools.
