For the 13th year running, HIFF will bring some of the most highly anticipated and innovative films from around the globe to Halifax for a four-day celebration of cinema.
From June 12–15 at Neptune Scotiabank Stage Theatre, HIFF will present an electrifying programme of local and international features, filmmaker classes and Q&As, regional short films, expanded cinema and VR experiences.
Whether it’s Black Mother , the latest impressionistic doc from acclaimed New York filmmaker Khalik Allah, Une Colonie , the heartfelt coming-of-age debut from Québec’s Genviève Dulude- De Celles, or El Mar La Mar, a harrowing, mythic walkabout shot on the U.S./Mexico border, HIFF 2019 features a lineup of boundary-pushing films unlike anything else you’ll see in Atlantic Canada.
