A message from our Artistic Director

Imagine running a theatre, an organization with the sole purpose of entertaining thousands of Nova Scotians, and imagine being told that we have to stop. We have to wait. And wait.

We thank you for your patience and ongoing support as we navigate these challenging times.

To think, as you watch this telethon, you are the first audience members to see the performance come out of this building since mid-March when the whole world, it seems, went into lockdown. The first people to hear music, see the performance, and to experience the thrill of live talent emanating from our theatre in 6 months.

It seems like so very much longer.

And you are at home. Distanced. Kept apart from the thrill of sitting in the dark with 450 excitable strangers.

We will reopen and celebrate the return of live theatre with the triumphant musical, Billy Elliot in summer 2021 .

We look forward to celebrating with you then.

After much deliberation and consultation with public health officials, Neptune Theatre decided to keep the curtain closed on our 2020-21 Season in its entirety.

We joined a growing list of theatres around the world who have made the difficult decision for the show not to go on. This is challenging for both our company and the community we serve – this will affect the hundreds of people who work at Neptune, our community partners, and our regional economy.

Theatre relies on community gathering together to share an experience. It is this magical exchange that makes our art form unique.

The coming months will be challenging for Neptune.

We invite you to watch this FLY AGAIN Telethon so you can hear these words: The show must go on and will go on… but we need your help.

With your help, Neptune Theatre will continue to create memorable theatre experiences for all Nova Scotians.

By making a donation, you will help us withstand this difficult time. At this time of great uncertainty, our commitment is to support our theatre community, our employees, and to ensure that Neptune Theatre returns as strong and as creative and as VITAL as ever.

We are looking forward to opening our doors, to welcoming you back to Neptune very soon. In-person. To participate in that LIVE theatre communal experience. WHEN it is safe to do so.

We are in this together and look forward to welcoming you back into our house to celebrate.

In the meantime, we wish to thank all of the artists that worked to create this Telethon, both in front of and behind the cameras.

If you enjoy this show, please consider donating. Your help will go a LONG way. Maybe a one-time donation? Perhaps a monthly donation is better for you?

Thank you for your support.
