Summer Camps - Week 3

July 20 - 24 (five day camp)

Camp for ages 4-12 will take place at the Shambhala School at 5450 Russell Street, Halifax.

Intensives for teens 13-18 will take place at Neptune Theatre at 1593 Argyle Street, Halifax through the Scotiabank Stage Entrance.

Please note: one week before classes begin, you will receive an email reminder containing all the information you need to know for the first day of camp.

Drop-off and Pick-up schedule:

10-12 years 8:30am - 8:45am 3:45pm - 4:00pm
7-9 years 8:45am - 9:00am 3:30pm - 3:45pm
4-6 years 9:00am - 9:15am 12:15pm - 12:30pm


Please note: if you are dropping off or picking up students in multiple age groups, you should do drop-off at the latest time scheduled and pick-up at the earliest time scheduled. For example; if you have a child in a 7-9yr camp and a child in a 10-12yr camp, your drop-off time is between 8:45am-9:00am, and your pick-up time is between 3:30pm-3:45pm.

Presentation videos will be sent by email the Friday after your camp week ends.

For any teen camp auditions, please prepare the following:

1) a short monologue (1-2 minutes) ideally from a play.

2) a thirty second blurb telling us who you are and what you love about performing and what you hope to get out of the program. Is there a program or aspect of a program that interests you most.

*please be sure to label the clip with your name and the program you are auditioning for.

4-6yrs Dive into the Toy Box


(half day camps)

If you could shrink down and become friends with your favourite toys, would you? Create your own imaginative script about the toys you love. Play theatre games that are active and will bring out your creative side! Make crafts with inspiration from the best toys ever invented.

Encouraging creative exploration, all 4-6yrs camps contain elements of drama, improv, movement, storytelling, and music

4-6yrs Teddy Bear Tea Party


(half day camps)

Do you like to get all fancy and spend time with your favourite stuffed animals? Well you’re in luck! Join us in this teddy and tea party themed camp and you’ll get to show off your favourite teddies and create a play that’s exciting and fun like you. Create your own characters, invitations, and a Teddy Bear musical number to show off to your family and friends.

Encouraging creative exploration, all 4-6yrs camps contain elements of drama, improv, movement, storytelling, and music

7-9yrs (Drama) Comic Book Bash


POW! CLUNK! KASHOW! Create your own comic book universe full of incredible characters and awesome situations. Draw your own panels and share your stories with the rest of the campers in your class. Bring it all to life with your very own comic book play! Play theatre games, make crafts and work on your drawing skills. It’s time to get colourful and dramatic! This camp is sure to be a super time!

7-9yrs (Musical) Musical Kitchen


Les poissons, les poissons hee hee hee, hon hon hon. Make music with pots and pans, wooden spoons and maraca cans. Enter the musical kitchen. Learn songs and dances involving food and cooking! Make beautiful crafts and explore your inner theatre chef. Create your own pretend kitchen and let’s get cookin’!

10-12yrs (Drama) Dramatic Dungeons and Dragons


Natural 20! Sweet! Have you ever wanted to play as a Bard? A Wizard? Create your own D&D character and join our adventurous campaign full of monsters and hidden treasure. Dress as your character in a full on Live Action Role Play (LARP) as you toss your dice to level up! Create new and interesting tales of valeur as you perform your trials through theatre games and making your own show!

10-12yrs (Musical) Write Your Own Musical


Everything is more magical when you put it to song! Work as a class to create your very own musical masterpiece! Create your story using songs you know and love, alter some lyrics, progress the plot and introduce the characters. Collaborate with your instructors and classmates using your new theatre games and tips and tricks to improve your performance skills. (Note: all singing will be digital)

13-18yrs (Level 1) Empowered Performer 101


(10am - 4pm)

Acting is more than memorizing lines and hitting your mark. In this week of workshops we will take you through exercises that will increase your skills as a performer. We will give you tools to increase your critical thinking and gain the knowledge and self awareness to bring your performance to the next level. A mix of fun and technical training, this week will empower you to become the performer you always wanted to be.

All levels welcome.

13-18yrs (Level 2) Inspired Collaborator & Creative Leader 201


(10am - 4pm)

What is your artistic vision? How do you see the future of theatre in this world? How can you work with others to create great art? . Working together we will explore different writing, movement, vocal and even filmic collaborations. We will explore acting, directing, producing, writing and artistic leadership  through fun workshops and classes. Who knows...maybe the next great theatre company will grow out of this class?
