Ages 10-12


Classes will run Saturdays in the fall, winter, and spring. For ages 10-12, we offer classes in Drama, Improv, and Musical Theatre. Sign-in is at the Scotiabank Stage entrance of Neptune Theatre on Argyle Street.

Our goal with our Seasonal Classes is to build up students through three focuses.

Fall - Theatre Skills

October 12th - November 30th

12:30 p.m.-2:00 p.m.

Dive into the fundamentals of acting. Turn your focus inward, and see what kind of characters, environments, conflicts, and resolutions you can come up with!

Winter - Scene Development

January 18th - March 7th

12:30 p.m.-2:00 p.m.

Students will be given the opportunity to expand on their individual work and learn what it takes to be a successful scene partner.

Spring - Create!

March 28th - May 9th

(no class on April 11th)

It’s time for you to become the actors, writers, and designers of a new piece of theatre! Taking text from our favourite books and poems, we will create something brand new.

Fall - Improv Rules!

October 12th - November 30th

2:00 p.m.-3:30 p.m.

Here you will learn the ‘rules of improv’ by playing games designed to unleash your creativity. See where improv comes from, and where it can go!

Winter - Improv Games

January 18th - March 7th

2:00 p.m.-3:30 p.m.

With inspiration from the Canadian Improv Games, students will rotate through a never-ending series of improv games, and expand their knowledge of the inner workings of improv.

Spring - Character & Scene Development

March 28th - May 9th

(no class on April 11th)

2:00 p.m.-3:30 p.m.

Who do you want to be? How can you build off the characters and offers of others? What if your scene took a different direction than you anticipated? Join us, and challenge yourself!

Fall - Musical Theatre Skills

October 12th - November 30th

Get back to the basics. Focus on creating relevant characters and conveying a message through song and dance.

Winter - Musical Theatre Stars

January 18th - March 7th

11:15 a.m. - 1:15 p.m.

Building from a foundation of basic acting, singing, and dancing skills, we will focus on highlighting your strengths. Enjoy the limelight!

Spring - Hits & Skits

March 28th - May 9th

(no class on April 11th)

11:15 a.m. - 1:15 p.m.

It’s not just about singing and dancing. Students will work on tiny scenes before and during songs, and take the motivation of their performance to the next level.


Please note: Classes will go off sale at 5 p.m. the day before classes start. Please complete your booking prior to that time.

- HST applies to students 14 years and older.

- Students should bring their own snacks. Neptune Theatre School is NUT & SHELLFISH FREE.

- Students who have a birthday within two months of a class's start date may sign up for that class (i.e. if your child is six, but will turn seven within two months of a 7-9 class starting, they may be signed up for the older class).

- Neptune Theatre is the sole owner of the information collected here and on our website. We will not sell, share, or rent this information to others.

- Neptune Theatre Foundation cannot be held responsible for accidents or injuries incurred in classes, or on its premises. Students/parents are financially responsible for any physical damage they/their children do the building.

- All classes and camps are subject to a $35 non-refundable fee per enrollment. There are no refunds once classes or camps have begun.

- Some classes have a minimum registration. If that number is not met, the class will not be offered. If a class is cancelled, all participants will be notified and offered alternative arrangements.
