Welcome to PREP!
The Prep Program offers robust training in singing, acting and dancing and is designed to help you prepare to audition for post secondary performance institutions and for a career as a performing artist. This program has been running for each year since 2016 and has resulted in many acceptances into performing arts programs all over Canada, United States and other countries.
Sessions take place Saturdays from September through February (approx 10AM - 5PM). Exact dates will be shared later wth students.
At the end of this program, students should have a repertoire of songs and monologues to present, templates for artist statements and application letters, tools for scholarship applications, lists of schools to apply to, considerations for career in the arts, and a strong performers tool box to create a path to success at any audition.
Auditions will open soon for the 2026-2027 PREP program.

Program Structure
UNIT 1 - Foundations & Technique
In this four week unit, students will have dedicated classes that focus on foundational skills and technique in acting, singing and dancing to create shared language and tools to begin applying to audition material. Additionally, students will be introduced to different pathways in pursuing careers in theatre, including diving into post-secondary theatre school offerings in Canada, with opportunities to talk to administrators and artists from various programs.
UNIT 2 - Material Selection & Creation
In this four week unit, students will be guided through the process of selecting strong, well-rounded audition material that showcases their strengths and individuality in acting and music. Students will create a “book” or collection of audition materials and will then be coached by professional artists in selections from that book for the various audition opportunities they are preparing. Additionally, students will begin creating material for auditions including resumes, artist statements, and headshots. In dance, students will be introduced to various styles of musical theatre dance.
UNIT 3 - Auditions & Interviews
In this four week unit, students begin sharing the material they honed in Unit 2 in various audition contexts, getting coaching in self-tapes, video auditions, general auditions, dance calls, learning to take re-directs, confidently answer interview questions, and receive feedback from professional artists on each audition. This Unit will culminate in a guest artist audition panel where students will share the audition material of their choosing in preparation for the specifics of their own upcoming theatre school or professional auditions.
