SEASON LINE UP

RENT

July 7 - August 30, 2026
Fountain Hall Stage

 Spotlight Series

In 1996 Jonathan Larson took the world by storm with the Tony Award & Pulitzer Prize winning rock musical RENT.
Based loosely on Puccini's La Boheme, RENT ran for over 5000 performances on Broadway. The show follows a year in the life of a group of young artists living a bohemian life in New York City's East Village, as they navigate love, poverty, and gentrification under the shadow of the HIV/AIDS epidemic. Full of anthemic rock tunes, heartbreaking ballads, and lyrics that inspired a generation, RENT is a cultural phenomenon you do not want to miss.

Women of the Fur Trade

September 22 - October 11, 2026
Scotiabank Studio Stage

 Radiant Series

Set in eighteen hundred and something-something, somewhere upon the banks of a Reddish River in Treaty One Territory, three very different women with a preference for 21st century slang find themselves stuck in a fort having tea and sharing their views on life, love, and Louis Riel.
Playwright Frances Koncan shifts the focus in this powerfully funny satire from the male gaze on history to the power of women and their place in the rapidly changing world of the Canadian fur trade.

Dracula: A Comedy of Terrors

September 29 - October 25, 2026
Fountain Hall Stage

 Spotlight Series

This is Dracula like you've never seen before. An irreverent, Mel Brooks inspired romp, this 90 minute comedy is laugh out loud funny. Full of wordplay, rapid fire anything-goes pop culture references, this is gothic horror reimagined.
In the treacherous mountains of Transylvania, a meek English real estate agent takes a harrowing journey to meet a new and mysterious client, who just happens to be the most terrifying and ferocious monster the world has ever known. As famed female vampire hunter Jean Van Helsing and company chase Drac from Transylvania to the British countryside to London and back, their antics are guaranteed to increase your pulse and cause bloodcurdling screams—of laughter.

Deepwater

October 20 - November 1, 2026
Scotiabank Studio Stage

 Radiant Series

A "surreal procedural" following RCMP Inspector Questa Bennett as she investigates a mysterious cold case involving a reclusive marine biologist whose young daughter went missing four years ago.
At its core, this 2024 Playwrights Guild of Canada Drama Award winner is a bold new work that questions the unknowable nature of life as two mothers strive to navigate a world so bizarre that it gives us creatures like the octopus - brilliant, yet deceptive - as well as the anglerfish - forsaken, yet misunderstood.
Through this raw, challenging, and hopeful story, Deepwater explores the various ways that we - like much deep-sea life - must create our own light when we feel the most lost.

Our Town

November 11 - 15, 2026
Scotiabank Studio Stage

 YPCo

Our Town presents the small town of Grover’s Corners in three acts: “Daily Life,” “Love and Marriage” and “Death and Eternity.” Narrated by a stage manager and performed with minimal props and sets, the play depicts the simple daily lives of the Webb and Gibbs families as their children fall in love, marry, and eventually – in one of the most famous scenes in American theatre – die.

November 12 - January 10, 2027
Fountain Hall Stage

 Holiday

Every Who down in Whoville loved Christmas a lot. But the Grinch, who lived just North of Whoville, did not.
Dr. Seuss's How the Grinch Stole Christmas brings the beloved Christmas story to life in full Whoville splendour. Combining songs from the classic cartoon, and original tunes, this musical will have your heart growing three sizes this Holiday Season.

Dickens' A Christmas Carol

November 24 - December 27, 2026
Scotiabank Studio Stage

 Holiday

In this one-person version, Dickens' A Christmas Carol follows Ebenezer Scrooge on that fateful Christmas Eve as he meets the three ghosts of Christmas Past, Present, and Future.
With zippy dialogue, impressive physical comedy, and lively audience participation this show is a tradition for generations of Nova Scotian families. It's time to get in the spirit.

Urinetown The Musical

February 16 - 28, 2027
Scotiabank Studio Stage

 YPCo

Winner of three Tony Awards, three Outer Critics Circle Awards, two Lucille Lortel Awards and two Obie Awards, Urinetown is a hilarious musical satire of the legal system, capitalism, social irresponsibility, populism, environmental collapse, privatization of natural resources, bureaucracy, municipal politics, and musical theatre itself! Hilariously funny and touchingly honest, Urinetown provides a fresh perspective on one of America's greatest art forms.
In a Gotham-like city, a terrible water shortage, caused by a 20-year drought, has led to a government-enforced ban on private toilets. The citizens must use public amenities, regulated by a single malevolent company that profits by charging admission for one of humanity's most basic needs. Amid the people, a hero decides that he's had enough and plans a revolution to lead them all to freedom!

Little Women

February 16 - March 7, 2027
Fountain Hall Stage

 Spotlight Series

Step into the world of the March family with Anne-Marie Casey’s beautifully crafted stage adaptation of Little Women, a faithful and emotionally rich retelling of Louisa May Alcott’s classic novel.
Set during the American Civil War, this compelling drama follows the unforgettable March sisters—independent Jo, responsible Meg, gentle Beth, and ambitious Amy—as they come of age amid love, loss, hope, and hardship.
An adaptation full of all the warmth, wit, and emotional depth fans of the original story would expect, Little Women is a powerful theatrical experience not to be missed.

Vanya

March 16 - April 4, 2027
Scotiabank Studio Stage

 Radiant Series

Starring
 Daniel MacIvor

A country house. A family stretched thin. A lifetime of love, resentment, and unrealized dreams simmering just below the surface.
In Simon Stephens’ razor-sharp adaptation of Chekhov’s Vanya, the quiet desperation of ordinary lives takes centre stage. When a celebrated professor and his younger wife descend on a rural estate, long-buried frustrations erupt. Vanya, who has sacrificed his life to support the household, begins to question everything: his choices, his purpose, and whether it’s too late to want more.
This modern adaptation brings startling immediacy to Chekhov’s classic, blending piercing humour with profound emotional honesty.
By turns funny, furious, and heartbreakingly tender, Vanya is a gripping, intimate drama for anyone who has ever felt stuck, restless, or quietly longing for change.

Les Misérables

March 30 - June 6, 2027
Fountain Hall Stage

 Spotlight Series

Set in 19th-century France, Les Misérables is an epic tale of passion, redemption, and revolution.
Follow the journey of Jean Valjean, a former prisoner seeking a new life while relentlessly pursued by the rigid Inspector Javert.
Against the backdrop of social injustice and the student uprising in Paris, lives and destinies intertwine through soaring music and unforgettable songs such as I Dreamed a Dream, On My Own, and Bring Him Home.
A powerful story of love, sacrifice, and the resilience of the human spirit, Les Misérables remains one of the world’s most beloved and moving musicals.

Scotiabank Studio Stage

 Radiant Series

When Carlos, a young Mexican musician building a life in Newfoundland, learns that his mother is flying in for his graduation recital - booked as a “surprise” by his well-meaning Newfoundland boyfriend, Phillip - his worlds are suddenly on a collision course. What follows is a tender and chaotic whirlwind of cultural misunderstandings, language barriers, clashing family expectations, and the universal hope that the people we love will accept us as we are.
Warm, witty, and full of heart, this bilingual comedy-drama invites audiences to reflect on belonging, bravery, and the messy, miraculous work of loving across distance—geographical, cultural, and emotional.
