Level up your on camera audition skills and confidence in this masterclass-style workshop led by Kirstin Howell. Participants will be sent an audition package (two scenes) 1 week before class. Each participant will have up to two takes with their audition material.

After which, Kirstin will work through the scenes with participants giving feedback and notes evaluating student’s depth of scene work, nerves, comfort and confidence and teaching participants to evaluate their own preparation abilities and self-tape habits. What am I doing well? What could I improve on? What are some new tools I can use to enhance my auditions in the future?

 For adults 16+ who have some or lots of experience in auditioning who are perhaps feeling stuck, want to level up, feeling rusty, or just want to work out their acting muscles. 

About the instructor: 

Kirstin is an award winning Canadian actor, singer, writer, and acting coach. She is a member of both CAEA and ACTRA and is the current chair of the ACTRA Maritimes Branch Council Training Committee. Kirstin is also a proud member of AACE (Association of Acting Coaches and Educators). At Neptune, she has been seen in  Mamma Mia, Little Shop of Horrors, Elf, Noises Off, Once, Beauty And The Beast, Into The Woods, Mary Poppins, Peter Pan, The Producers, White Christmas, and KAMP. 

She has trained at some of North America's top theatre schools including Dalhousie University, Saddleback College, and the prestigious Sheridan Institute Musical Theatre-Performance Program. She is also a student of ‘Lesley Kahn & Co’, and ‘The Groundlings’ both located in Los Angeles.

Kiki has been coaching and teaching actors of all levels for over 10 years, and is the owner and operator of The LA Technique Acting and Self-Tape studio (Halifax). She has taught kids and teens workshops, adult workshops, as well as hundreds of one-on-one coaching sessions. Clients have booked roles on such shows as The Trades, Son of a Critch, From, Sullivan’s Crossing, The Sinner, The Umbrella Academy, Moonshine, Mr. D, The Good Doctor, to name a few, as well as roles in theatre productions, films, voiceover, and commercial work.
