Les Misérables
About the show
Set in 19th-century France, Les Misérables is an epic tale of passion, redemption, and revolution. Follow the journey of Jean Valjean, a former prisoner seeking a new life while relentlessly pursued by the rigid Inspector Javert. Against the backdrop of social injustice and the student uprising in Paris, lives and destinies intertwine through soaring music and unforgettable songs.
A powerful story of love, sacrifice, and the resilience of the human spirit, Les Misérables remains one of the world’s most beloved and moving musicals, and has just celebrated its 40th Anniversary.

Character Breakdown:
All children wishing to audition should be aged 8+, and able to play in the range of 8-10 years old.
The children cast as Little Cosette and Young Eponine will alternate playing the 2 roles.
Little Cosette
Little Cosette is Fantine’s daughter and the Thénardiers’ ward. She has been forced into child labor. She is underfed, beaten by Madame Thénardier, and bullied by Eponine.

Vocal range bottom: A3
Young Eponine
Young Eponine is the pampered daughter of the Thénardiers. She does little except taunt Young Cosette.
Young Eponine does not sing; however the actors playing Young Eponine & Little Cosette will be sharing the roles, so note Cosette’s singing requirements.
Gavroche
Gavroche is Thénardier’s son. He is left to fend for himself and lives by his wits in the streets of Paris. Gavroche is brave, witty, and arrogant, with a fantastic, unchanged voice.

Audition Requirements:
Those selected to audition will be asked to prepare material provided. The sides will be sent to those auditioning at least 5 days before the audition date.
Please indicate which role(s) you wish to be considered for. If you do not know, no problem.
