2025 - 2026 Auditions

About Neptune TourCo School Tour:

TourCo is an essential part of Neptune’s Education and Outreach programs that aims to bring performances across Nova Scotia and the Maritimes, giving those who may not otherwise have the chance to experience live professional theatre the opportunity to do so. All performers in the shows will be working under the CTA - section 55, TYA agreement. Note that additional duties may include but are not limited to setting up and tearing down the set and props at each venue, some driving (if you have a license), question and answer with the students and staff, early mornings, overnight stays on the road, and mostly weekday daytime performances.

Neptune Theatre's audition and rehearsal spaces are physically accessible by ramps and elevators, but we cannot guarantee that the performance spaces in the schools the TourCo visits will have the same access.

About this audition:

Neptune Theatre is seeking three (3) Nova Scotia-based actors for 2 TYA shows travelling to schools and community centres throughout Nova Scotia, with a focus on the Halifax Regional Municipality. The rehearsal schedule has been truncated to reflect the shows’ run times.

Rehearsals: March 9-March 22

Touring: March 23 - May 29, 2026 with possible extension

ANIMAL FARM

Written by George Orwell and Adapted by Sharisse Lebrun and Patrick Jeffrey

Led by the dream of Old Major, the prize-winning boar, the animals of Manor Farm set about creating a utopian society of equality, free from human dominance. At first, Animal Farm prospers, but it’s not long before Napoleon, a power-hungry pig, disrupts the peace, and chaos ensues.

This high-energy, three-actor adaptation of George Orwell’s parable on totalitarianism stays faithful to the original text while showing just how relevant and contemporary this modern classic is.
